McEwan Foods is an upscale grocery store located in Toronto, Ontario. Owned by renowned chef Mark McEwan, McEwan Foods offers specialty and hard-to-find grocery items as well as a prepared foods counter.
Prior to its opening, CCS Creative was contracted with the development of McEwan Foods catering program as well as their website and e-marketing initiatives.
Assessment & Development
The first step in the undertaking of this project was to do an initial assessment of the operation, then take existing offerings and transform them into a complete catering menu and program that would be fully integrated into the existing operation. Once the menu was developed, the next step would be getting it in the right hands.
The Printed Flyer
The project of creating a printed flyer entailed:

The content was already established, we just had to make sure people would be able to find what they needed without frustration and also to gently guide them in the directions we wanted them to go.
- Dynamic Content & Management
Some things change, and people come back when they know they can always expect something new. A content management system was developed to allow key staff at McEwan to maintain their seasonal menus, news and other changing content.
By including a highly visible subscription form on their website McEwan Foods receives an average of about 200 new subscribers per month. CCS Creative manages a monthly newsletter campaign for McEwan Foods, bringing the latest news and upcoming store events to McEwan Foods subscribers.
Our relationship with Pizza Nova, a franchise encompassing 125 locations across Ontario and Quebec, has spanned over 10 years. Our first initiative was to take them out of the price point competition with the other big pizza franchises and into their own market, by branding them as a company committed to providing its customers with quality pizza and Italian specialties made with superior ingredients.
The Marketing Strategy
Starting with the tag line "Taste The Difference!™" CCS Creative developed a marketing strategy that would see an initial increase of 19% in Pizza Nova's sales. By giving an "Old-World" look & feel to their marketing materials and professionally photographing their menu items, we gave them an appeal that no other chain could compete with. The cheapest pizza was no longer the winning contender; quality counted for more.
Times change, and when Pizza Nova began the process of redesigning their stores and logo, CCS was there to take their new approach to paper. New flyer, poster and in-store materials were designed, and menu items were photographed with the new, more contemporary feel.
